About
Zach and Maggie are a vibrant husband and wife musician/songwriter duo based in Nashville. Their lively award-winning compositions pair Zach's powerhouse guitar/vocals with Maggie's effortless violin/mandolin/vocals, crafting a clean, lighthearted simplicity of various genres including Americana, Bluegrass, and Folk Pop, mixed with diverse global flavors and lyrics packed with clever, imaginative stories and characters.
“The music of Zach & Maggie is at once playful, captivating, and stealthily intelligent, drawing on the sounds of dusty accordions, fiddles, and mandolins in equal measure to traditional drums and bass in order to achieve endearing narrative songs. Once you start listening, you’ll find it hard to stop.”
- Drew Miller - The Rabbit Room
“...(their) single “Double Grave” is charmingly unnerving, telling the story of a man who waits on his widow to join him in their final resting place. Sweet? Maybe. Spooky? Definitely.”
- Jonny Therrien - The Bluegrass Situation
“…Maggie’s sweet, pensive “Robin” and Zach’s earnestly beautiful “Settle Down,” sounding like the best James Taylor song he never wrote. Taken in its entirety, The Elephant In the Room is a remarkably original collection that flirts with everything from Americana to pop music, that manages to be both goofy at times and earnest at others; a truly creative endeavor that begs for another listen as soon as it’s over.”
- John Moore - Americana Highways
Zach and Maggie have brought their diverse skills and broad music perspectives to some of the country's most well-known stages, including Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry, and the Sydney Opera House alongside some of the greatest artists of their industry, including Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Chris Tomlin, a long tenure with modern-day hymn writers Keith & Kristyn Getty, and many others. Their writing has garnered awards from the John Lennon (JLSC), and International (ISC) Songwriting Competitions, along with a long list of performance awards for their instrumental playing. Collectively, through all these experiences, Zach and Maggie have been able to produce a new album that is not merely eclectic and enjoyable, but musically intelligent in its cohesive range of style and sound.
